Fried Prawn Roll 虾枣春卷

hourBored of spring rolls? How about making this fried prawn roll instead during this CNY for your family? Remember to steam the rolls on a frame instead of a plate to avoid water traps.
Ingredients
- Ingredients (Set A)
1 kg minced pork belly
½ kg prawn (remove skin, dice it)
200 g water chestnut (discard skin, dice it)
½ pc carrot (discard skin, slice it)
Some spring onion
1 pc egg
¾ tsp five spice powder
Some pepper powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp tapioca starch
- Ingredients (Set B)
2 pc beancurd sheet (cut into 4 pieces each, wipe clean)
Some tapioca starch mixture (1 tbsp tapioca starch + 3 tbsp water)
Some tapioca starch
Some cooking oil
Instructions
- Add all Ingredients A into a big mixing bowl, mix well until it turns stickiness, add sesame oil and mix well, store into fridge for 30 minutes
- Lay the beancurd sheet, add in the meat mixture, shape into roll and roll it up, apply some tapioca starch mixture on the sealing edge and seal it
- Steam the prawn roll with high heat for 15 minutes, then retrieve and leave it to cool
- Cut the prawn roll, coat with tapioca starch
- Heat the wok with cooking oil, add the prawn roll cuts, fry until golden brown, retrieve and it’s done!
